Overview
Dr. Libba Reed McMillan, RN is currently an Assistant
Professor at Auburn University’s School of Nursing.
Dr. McMillan teaches junior level nursing students Pharmacology
and Professional Concepts. Her research interests include
nurse- patient therapeutic communication, medication reconciliation,
international nursing, diabetes education and management,
and curriculum theory. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled
“Empathy and Empathic Communication: Nursing Student
Perceptions of Program Effectiveness, Academic Experiences,
and Competence”. Her vast nursing experience includes
emergency/trauma, school nursing, critical care, cardiac rehabilitation
and medical surgical nursing. Dr. McMillan is a CCNE accreditation
evaluator and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International
Honor Society.
