Applying to Nursing School

All applicants to the upper division must have a minimum unadjusted GPA of 2.50 on all college work attempted by the end of the fall semester, and be able to complete all nursing lower division courses prior to upper division entry. Additionally, a minimum grade of “C” is required for each nursing lower division course.

School of Nursing applicants who are not currently attending Auburn University must achieve university admission to be considered for admission to the upper division of the School. University applications can be completed online at http://www.auburn.edu/admissions/. Proof of University acceptance and copies of all transcripts through the end of fall semester must accompany this application, and be submitted directly to the School of Nursing.

Applications will be reviewed in the School of Nursing only if proof of university admission is included and all transcripts are present. Incomplete applications will be returned without being reviewed.

Submission of transcripts to the university Admissions Office only will not suffice. All application material must be received in the School of Nursing before the deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.

Those seeking admission to the upper division of the School of Nursing at Auburn University must submit the following items directly to the School of Nursing.

All applicants must provide:

  • A completed and signed application for admission to the Upper Division of the School of Nursing. (Students currently attending Auburn University who have already submitted copies of original transcripts from all schools previously attended to the Office of the Registrar need not resubmit them. It is not necessary to submit an Auburn University transcript.)

Students not currently attending Auburn University must also provide:

  • Documentation of acceptance to Auburn University.
  • Transcripts from any institutions attended other than Auburn University through the Fall semester. Unofficial transcripts may accompany the School of Nursing application, however, official transcripts must be provided to the Office of the Registrar in order to achieve credit for any transfer work.

Application may be made before all prerequisite lower division course work is finished. All course work must be completed prior to Fall semester. All applicants must have a GPA of 2.50 or greater on all college work attempted at the time of application to be considered for admission. A GPA of 2.50 does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants with prerequisite work in progress at the time of application must complete a plan of study and meet the grade requirements.
